Hello Doily

Hi everyone

this card I want to post is a card I cased quite a while ago.  I thought it was just beautiful and wanted to see what I could do with it. I embossed the stamp with white embossing powder and it looks really nice.  I am incredibly happy with how it turned out.  I cased this card from Jenna Barber, she does some beautiful work and when I saw this I just couldn’t resist casing it.

Hope you like it.

I’m thinking this card would make a great wedding card.

Well I guess I have filled your inbox enough today, I have  more to show you tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

Hi everyone

I wanted to show you all the christmas cards I made a Sally’s stamp-a-stack a couple of weekends ago.  We made two cards of ten different designs.  It was a big day and I got nearly all of my cards finished, I am going back to Sally’s again this weekend to finish off the last card I didn’t get to make.  I had so much fun during this day long event, we even went overtime, and Sally’s wonderful husband didn’t complain once about a house full of women….. hee hee.

Not only did I have a great time making some gorgeous cards, I also made a new friend or two, which is always nice.  I guess that is one of the things I really love about Stampin Up and card-making, its a great way to make friends who have a similiar interest.

Well here are the cards.  I hope you like them.

This and a couple of the other cards we made were made with a retired stamp set call “Sparkly & Bright”, it’s such a simple little stamp set, but it makes such cute and simple cards. Great for when you need to make a lot of cards in a hurry…. 🙂

Here’s another card made with Sparkly & Bright, don’t you just love Rudolf’s little red glittery nose????  I do!!!!

Along with making some cards we also made some matching gift tags, using the Stampin Up Two Tags die.  I love this big shot die. Hopefully you can see Rudolf’s glittery nose a bit better.

I’m loving the idea of making home-made gift tags for Christmas.  I haven’t done them before but I am thinking this year all my pressies will have them on.

I just love this little punched Christmas owl…..isn’t he just the cutest.  Not sure if you can see properly but the snow has a little glitter added to it, just to add a little bling to Christmas.

Here’s the matching gift tag.  I am just loving this little Christmas owl.  He is too cute for words.

This card we made with the Delightful Decorations stamp set, and some really funky Christmas DSP.

Ok, so this is the last post for now.  As I said earlier I still have one more card to make which I will post tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting.

Under the Big Top

Hello again

the cards I am showing you today are some of my all time favourites.  Although they really aren’t my style I still love them.  I originally thought they would probably only be good for kids cards but I’m thinking they may even be suitable for that “big” kid in your life.  I made all of these cards at one of Sally’s Friday night classes a couple of months ago.  My most favourite of the set is definitely the stage card, it was surprisingly simpler than I thought it was going to be. Take a look and let me know what you think.  Your comments are always appreciated.

This first card was probably the easiest of the set.  Sometimes simple can be so very effective. Don’t you think??

This second card was a bit little bit more complicated, and has lots of layers of DSP.  I love the tent with the little flags on the top peaks. Its a really clever idea.  I think my little nephews might love this card.  I might have to make another one….. 🙂

This is the inside of the tent card. The stars look so good when they have the smaller one punched out of the centre.

This is the outside of the stage card.  It’s the first card I have made with a belly band.  I love this card both inside and outside.  Its a real work of art whichever way you look at it…..hee hee

This is a close up of the belly band.  I love the pinwheel on the front.  There were lots of techniques in this card, but boy was it fun to make.

So this is the inside of this really fun card, and yes those little characters are actually standing up  and not stuck to the background.  They pop up when the card is open.  You may be able to see it better in this next photo.

How cute are these little guys????

Well that’s it for tonight.

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Anniversary

Well like I said over the weekend, I haven’t been in my craft room very much of late.  But now that I am, you just can’t get me out of here….hee hee

On Sunday I decided to case a very lovely lady I have got to know with the magic of the “world wide web”.  She is amazingly talented and I just love EVERYTHING she creates.

My wonderful in-laws will be celebrating their 50th (yes I did say 50th, it’s not a typo) wedding anniversary on December 17, so I decided   I would make them a card.  Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it as they live at the other end of the country, but at least with my card there, they will know I am thinking of them.  My husband will be attending the festivities and then flying home for good later that night.  Oh yes, for those of you who don’t know the Royal Australian Navy has finally decided to post my husband back to Cairns, after an 18 month posting in Melbourne at HMAS Cerberus.  Woo Hoo, can you guess how happy I am about that?????  Especially seeing as my almost 19 year old daughter is planning on changing universities next year and leaving Cairns for a bigger uni in Brisbane…. 😦 At least with Mal home, when he’s not at sea, I won’t turn into the “crazy cat lady” and end up talking to my two cats because of living alone…… hahahahaha

Anyway I guess your all waiting for me to shhh so I can show you my card.  The first one is very similiar to the card I cased from Vicki Burdick, but I thought it was missing something, so with the second one I added a little bit of bling. What do you think a bit too much bling????  I love it none the less, now which one to send to my Mum and Dad, I know they will love either one.

Melbourne Cup 2011

Ok so this one has nothing to do with cards whatsoever.  I just wanted to show you a couple of photos of my works Melbourne Cup luncheon.  We had lots of fun dressing up and running sweeps, I can’t believe that I ended up the day with over $100 of winnings in my pocket….. woo hoo.

Well here is a picture of me all dressed up for Melbourne Cup.

Now I know everyone always says public servants don’t do much well here is proof.  This is Cathy putting her feet up having a quiet one while waiting for the race to begin.

This next one is one of my very dear friends at work Jo. She’s an absolute scream, and we get on so well.  So well  in fact our supervisor made her move desks because we talk too much…..hahahahaha.  She used to sit next to me now she stuck in between two team leaders….hahahahaa. Poor Jo!!!

Ok so this last one is a group photo of all of us in EQ Payroll, with Eleanor in front.  Eleanor retired a little while back but we were never able to give her a send off party because she fell down the stairs on the second last Friday before she was to leave and broke her shoulder.  This was only the second time we had seen her since her accident.  She is much better now and healing well….thank goodness.  I made her farewell card and we bought her a lovely gold ladies dress watch which we had engraved on the back for her.

Well thanks for sharing a little piece of my life.

Stitched Stockings

Ok I know, I’m filling up your inbox… 😛 I’m sure I’m going to hear about it from my friends tonight, but I just had to show you these two cards I made today.

I was going to go with Bashful Blue for my colour scheme but then decided that seeing as I haven’t used many of the new  in-colours so far I thought I would give Pool Party a go, and boy am I glad I did.  I am really happy with how these two cards came out.  The first one is almost identical to the one I was casing from Lisa Young except for a few minor differences, however the second one is my version.  I have made these cards for one of the girls at work who became a Nanna for the second time on Sunday to a beautiful baby boy, now the hard bit comes…..which one to give her?  Any ideas?

I have seen quite  few cards similar to these which is another way of using the Stitched Stockings stamp set, other than Christmas cards.  Thanks to my friend Sandra for lending me her stamp set and punch so I could make these.  I am surely going to be buying both these items.

Hope you like them too.

Button Buddies

Hi again

well it’s been a while since my last post.  I have had a period of no inspiration and lost my “moejoe” when it came to card making.  But I’m hoping its come back now.  I have spent the last month or so scouring wonderfully crafty blogs and getting some fantastic ideas.  This group of cards I want to show you today is from a class I did at Sally’s a while back.  They aren’t my usual style (in fact they aren’t really even Sally’s style, seeing as our styles are so very similiar), but they were quick and fun, which is a nice change.

I think they are all just too cute, but I think my favourite one is the piggy.   Not sure if you can see it properly but we put crystal effects on the cherries to make them really stand out.
