Annual Retreat 2012

Ok so its official, I am the worst blogger EVER!!!!  tee hee

I have recently come back from our annual 3 day Stampin Up retreat held at Tinaroo Dam.  I love this weekend soooo much and have attended all three so far.  I’m already looking forward to next years retreat.

I had a fantastic 3 days crafting and making 3D items and spending time with some wonderful people.  The food this year was also soooo yummy, and our goody bag was full of lots of lovely presents from the wonderful Shannean.  I had a really productive three days making 21 items in all.  I made half of my Christmas cards and all the remaining birthday cards for the rest of the year.  Boy am I organized this year.

Take a look at some of the things I made.  I haven’t photographed my Christmas cards yet because I need to purchase some mini candy canes to finish them off.

The first item I made were these cute as a button mini sticky note pad keyrings.  I made 8 in total and came home with 4…lol  I think my ring may be a little too big but they were so easy and I had so much fun making them.

I also made this card for my friend Zani who was having a birthday on the Sunday of retreat.  Think I will be making this one again.  I wanted to make a really pretty card for Zani, she is such a beautiful girl with a wonderful soul.  Hope you liked your card Zani 🙂

I also made this card for my friend Ellie who is having a birthday in December.  I added the vallum butterflies, rhinestones and greeting to the card when I got home.  It just looked a little too plain before, but now I am really happy with it.  As you can probably guess purple is Ellie’s favourite colour so I wanted to incorporate as many different purples in the card as I could.  I also decorated the inside with some of the smaller butterflies.

Every year at retreat there is a card making challenge.  We have a certain period time and have to meet certain criteria to be eligible.  This was my creation  this year  I love Field of Flowers, it is one of my favourite stamp sets, so I couldn’t resist using it for the competition.  I didn’t win by the way, but that’s ok I had fun making my card.  Besides the competition was really tough this year.

This is probably my most favourite card that I made during retreat.  I haven’t used this stamp set in such a long time but this card has renewed my love of this stamp.  I have made this card to give to my mother and father-in-law for their 51st wedding anniversary this year.  I know they are going to love it.   I love the little silver butterfly charm………..thanks Shaun!!!!!

As I said I haven’t photographed my Christmas cards but once they are finished I promise to come back and show you all what I am sending out this year.  I have made 8 of them so far and have another 8 to make.

Thanks for visiting.
