Convention 2013 here I come!!!!

Hi again

This year I have decided to attend the annual Stampin’ Up! convention to be held in Brisbane this May.  I am so looking forward to it, not only will it be my first convention it will be my first as a demonstrator.  I have heard such wonderful things from my friends and fellow demonstrators about convention.

However, a part of convention (if you choose to do so), is to make swaps to share with other demonstrators.  I usually hate making swaps, only because I get sick and tired of looking at the same card, colours and stamps after a while.   So with this in mind I made a decision to only make 100 swaps.  I know that sounds impressive but it’s not really, some of my fellow demonstrators make up to 400+ to take to convention.  I just couldn’t tackle that large a number.

Anyway, I am happy to announce that I have completed all 100 of my swaps and unbelievably I still actually like the look of them.  Usually I get half way through and start to think they are so very very ugly.  I tried a little trick with making my swaps by making the same design just in two different colours in an attempt to not get bored with them halfway through.

Here’s a sneak peek of one of my swaps.  Can you work out what colours I have used here?

Hope your having a great day.

Happy 11th Wedding Anniversary

I’m back again today because I am home sick with bronchitis as I mentioned yesterday, me fever is rising and I am feeling generally horrid.

My husband and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary on Feb 2, although as usual he was away at sea, so we are delaying our celebration until he comes home.  I wanted a card that would show him how much I love him but wasn’t too girly.  Then I came across this cute card from Eileen LeFevre.

Here is the link to the card

I am calling this my wedding anniversary card on steriods.  I pretty much copied Eileen’s card exactly except I added lots more love hearts.  I also used a lot of dimensionals in this card.  It is very glittery but so cute.

Our 11th Wedding Anniversary card - Feb 2013Do you think he will be feeling the love when he see’s this card?  I hope so.  I also decorated the inside of the card, just in case he didn’t get the message.

Our 11th Wedding Anniversary card inside - Feb 2013I think I have just enough love hearts on this card to show him how much I love him.

Well enough of my lovey dovey chit chat, I hope you are all having a lovely day.

Thanks for visiting.

Sally’s Card Class

Hi again,

So my “flu” looks like it is turning into bronchitis, so after a horrid day yesterday (not just illness wise), I visited the doctor for more medication this morning.  He should really start paying me for keeping him in business….lol

As such I am home again today and tomorrow and have spoken to my boss at work and will only be working half days on Thursday and Friday of this week.  I am very lucky our “normal” boss is away and the stand-in is very understanding and sweet.

Anyway, today I want to show you the cards I made at Sally’s class last Friday (when I thought I was starting to feel better), boy what a difference a weekend can make.  All the cards from the class used the new pop n cuts die from the Stampin’ Up! catalogue, which is the latest craze at the moment.  Some of these cards may look familiar to earlier ones I have posted, but I assure it is only a coincedence.  I love this die so much and really hope Stampin’ Up! will bring out more inserts to match the base.

Sally's class - Feb 2013

Sally's class 2 - Feb 2013Do you love her patty cake papers skirt?  Clever idea hey?

Sally's class 3 - Feb 2013This one uses the base card from the new Simply Sent kit in the Sale-a-bration brochure.  I love the die cut edge.

Well I’m heading off to have another nap.

Hope your week is going better than mine is.

Thanks for visiting.

Michelle’s Feb Class

Hello there!

Isn’t time just flying by?  I can’t believe my daughter turned 20 yesterday and that February is almost over.   Whew! I’m tired just thinking about it all.

I am sorry I haven’t posted in a while, but now that I am back at work I don’t have as much time to create, plus I have spent the past two weeks at home sick.

Anyway enough with the excuses, your probably just grateful I haven’t been filling your inbox everyday like I was in January….lol

Today, I would like to show you the three cards I made at my new upline Michelle’s monthly class.  Oh didn’t I tell you I finally decided to join Stampin Up! as a demonstrator, it only took me 3.5 years to take the plunge.  I am so grateful for Michelle she is such an amazing women and creative beyond belief.  I love her lots.

Take a look at what we got up to two weekends ago.

Michelle's class 2 - Feb 2013

Michelle's class 1 - Feb 2013

I love love love these new Pop n Cuts from Stampin’ Up!.  They make the most wonderful cards and have so many many possibilities.  I have found lots and lots of fantastic cards made with these on other peoples blogs that I intend on copying.

Michelle's class - Feb 2013Now, I’m not very good at doing colouring with blender pens and water pens, so excuse the colour lines in my flowers.  Despite my terrible colouring how lovely is this card?  I sent this card to my beautiful daughter for her 20th birthday.  I love this new colour Raspberry Ripple from the Stampin’ Up! colour palette.

Michelle's class 4 - Feb 2013Lastly how cute is this little “Moby”, I just love this little whale, AND the best thing is it comes with a matching sizzlit to cut him out.  Yay no fussy cutting….lol.  I love the bright colours on this card, although they aren’t usually the colours I use.  I think my gorgeous grand-baby will love this card, I think I will sent it to her just because I love her 🙂

Well I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend and have had lots of time to make something crafty too.  I am off to make an anniversary card my for DH (we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary on Feb 12), he is still away at sea and doesn’t get back until Friday so I still have a little time up my sleeve.

Thanks for visiting.
