Sketched Birthday #6

Hi Friends,

Well tonight it’s a late post as I fell asleep earlier tonight…ooops

It has been an extremely busy week though, even if it was only a 4 day working week.  I am definitely looking forward to getting into some serious card making this weekend, and seeing as the weather is forecasted to rainy and stormy it will be perfect to stay tucked up at home and create.

Today is the final card in my group of ESAD Birthday Fairy Challenge cards.  I now have to start thinking about the February Birthday Fairy cards I need to make.

Actually I have quite a lot of cards to make this month, my daughter is turning 21, so I need something super special for her, my husband is having his birthday just 2 days after our daughter, one of my bosses has just turned 60 and I have offered to make a card on behalf of the team to send to her, plus I have the ESAD Birthday Fairy cards for February to make, and I still have one more thank-you card to create too.

Looks like a busy month ahead and lots more posts to come… 🙂

Sketched Birthday 6 Crisp Cantalope (Birthday Fairy)The sixth card is again made with Crisp Cantalope, Whisper White and the Birthday Basic DSP.

Sketched Birthday 6 Inside Crisp Cantalope (Birthday Fairy)So do you have a favourite of the six cards?  Leave me a comment and let me know which layout you liked the best.  I find it difficult to pick a favourite as I love them all, but surprisingly I think I would have to say I really like the Summer Starfruit one. Which is weird because I’m not a huge fan of the colour.

Guess I just like the way the whole card came together and looks.

Pop back tomorrow for another project I have made recently, believe me you don’t want to miss this one, I am extremely proud of it.

Thanks for visiting.

Sketched Birthday #5

Hi Friends,

Well as I said yesterday, it has been one very busy week at work this week, so I am getting in early with my post because I don’t think I will be awake for much longer….lol

Today I want to show you the fifth card in my group of cards made for the ESAD Birthday Fairy January edition.  Yesterday I asked you if you could work out what colour today’s card was going to be.  Did you guess?

Sketched Birthday 5 Summer Starfruit (Birthday Fairy)Yep, today the card is made from Whisper White and Summer Starfruit card stock from Stampin’ Up!.  Again, I used the Birthday Basic DSP.

Sketched Birthday 5 Inside Summer Starfruit (Birthday Fairy)I really like the inside of this card, its a little bit different to all the other cards.

Ok, I will be back again tomorrow with my last card in this group.  Hope you come back to see it.

Thanks for visiting.

Sketched Birthday #4

Hi Friends

Well today is all about card number 4 in my series of sketched birthday cards for the ESAD Birthday Fairy Challenge.  I must tell you, I was on Facebook yesterday and there was some very lovely comments from some of the girls who had received these cards for their birthday.  It was really nice to see that someone else got so much joy from something I had made.  I mean that’s what we make home-made cards (or home-made anything for that matter), to bring joy to the recipent.  It’s all about Sharing the Love as we say at Stampin’ Up!

Here is today’s card….

Sketched Birthday 4 Raspberry Ripple (Birthday Fairy)The colours in this card are Raspberry Ripple and Whisper White with the Basic Birthday DSP.

Sketched Birthday 4 Inside Raspberry Ripple (Birthday Fairy)Well again, it’s another short post, but I will be back tomorrow with card number 5 to show you.  Can you guess what colour tomorrow’s card will be.  Please leave me a comment I love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for visiting.

Sketched Birthday #3

Hi Friends

Well I returned to work today, and as I expected it was a very, very busy day.  We even worked an hour overtime, which we are planning on doing again tomorrow.

On top of it being a short week, due to the public holiday on Monday, we are also expecting a possible cyclone on either Thursday or Friday, so the need to get the work completed early is imperative at this stage of the week.

Today’s card is the third one in my collection of the Birthday Fairy Challenge.

Sketched Birthday 3 Gumball Green (Birthday Fairy)The  main colour in this card is Gumball Green, along with the usual Whisper White and the Birthday Basic DSP.

The designer series paper has really dictated the colours I chose for these six cards.

Sketched Birthday 3 Inside Gumball Green (Birthday Fairy)Of course it wouldn’t be one of my cards if the inside wasn’t decorated too… 🙂

Sorry for the short post today but I am really exhausted from my first day back at work after 5 weeks holiday.

I will be back again tomorrow with card number 4.

Thanks for visiting.

Sketched Birthday #2

Hi again!

If you are in Australia I hope you are having a lovely Australia Day holiday.  Sadly today is my last day of my five weeks of holiday.  I will be back at work bright and early tomorrow morning at 8 am, and I am sure I am going to be busy from the moment I arrive.

I’m not going to say too much about today’s card, if you have been following my blog you will know the background to this card from my post yesterday.

Well here it is my Sketched Birthday #2 card….

Sketched Birthday 2 Bermuda Bay (Birthday Fairy)This card is made with Whisper White and Bermuda Bay card stock and the Birthday Basic DSP.  As you can see I haven’t used any new elements in this card from my previous one, but I have mixed it up so it is still different.

Sketched Birthday 2 Inside Bermuda Bay (Birthday Fairy)As is my usual style I have decorated the inside of the card too.

Remember, pop back tomorrow to see my third version of this card.  If like me your busy back at work tomorrow, you can always click the FOLLOW button and you will receive an email in your inbox whenever I post.

Sketched Birthday

Good Morning and Happy Australia Day,

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I have joined a Facebook group called Extra-Special Australasian Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, and I have decided to participate in a couple of challenges that they are running for the year.  The first challenge (as mentioned in an earlier post), is the Mystery Box Challenge and the second one is the Birthday Fairy Challenge.

This second challenge involves sending out birthday cards to all participants for the relevant month of their birthday.  For the month of January there are six ladies who are celebrating birthdays, so I made six birthday cards.  I should tell you that I have never actually met any of these ladies and only know a few by reputation or by following their blogs, the rest are people I have never met, but am hoping will become friends through this event.

After a lot of thought I decided I would make a different card every month but just mix it up a bit so I wasn’t making multiples of the exact same card and getting bored, (which I find happens when I have to make a lot of the same cards ie: swaps…lol).

I decided to use one of the stamp sets we received for free from last years Stampin’ Up! Convention in Brisbane.  It’s a really fun stamp set and gave me lots of inspiration to make six different cards with all the same elements.  I used the really cute Sketched Birthday stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Here is the first birthday card I made.

Sketched Birthday 1 Crisp Cantalope (Birthday Fairy)I used Whisper White card stock, then matted it with Crisp Cantalope card stock and then added another mat of Basic Birthday designer series paper, all by Stampin’ Up!.  The images were stamped with black StazOn.  I used the 2-3/8 Scallop Punch and the 1- 3/4 Scalloped Punch.  The scallops are popped up on dimensionals.

Take a look at what I did with the inside of the card.

Sketched Birthday 1 Inside Crisp Cantalope(Birthday Fairy)I matted the Whisper White card with Crisp Cantalope card stock and added a strip of the Basic Birthday DSP, then popped up another scalloped circle with the cupcake image.  The mini cupcake was stamped on Crisp Cantalope card stock and then fussy cut and popped up with dimensionals too.

As I said earlier in this post I made six different versions of this card so come back tomorrow to see the second version of my Sketched Birthday card.

Hope all my Aussie friends have a lovely long weekend celebrating our national day.

Thanks for visiting.

ESAD Mystery Box part 3

Hi again,

If you have been following my blog over the past couple of days you will know what today’s post is all about.  Therefore I am not going to say too much, just show you the card and talk about the items I used to create it.  I used the Blast Off stamp set to create this little gem.

Blast Away (Mystery Box)This little card is made using the Tent Card Technique, I found the instructions on Splitcoast Stampers if your interested in making your own tent card.  I embossed the background planets with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and added diamentes to the smallest of the stars.

The rocket and space man are also embossed.  Firstly I stamped the rocket in Real Red ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The little space man was embossed with Smoky Slate embossing powder.  The the star bursts (in the far background) and the planet were stamped in Crushed Curry ink and the alien was stamped in Gumball Green ink.  I added some more diamentes to the bottom of the rocket as well.

I used Midnight Muse and Whisper White card stock, all products are available from Stampin’ Up!

Blast Away Close Up (Mystery Box)Here’s a close up of the little space man so you can see the embossing properly.

I really love this little card, it is just so cute.  It looks so much cuter in real life than any of my photos can show.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing the three projects I have created for the ESAD Mystery Box January section.  Along with making these projects I have been busy making lots more, come back tomorrow to see what else I have been up to.

Thanks for visiting.
