I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas like me and my family have. We had a quiet Christmas Day just relaxing around the house and having a low-key lunch. We now have family visiting us and keeping us very very busy.
Today I want to show you a tin box I decorated the week before Christmas. I purchased four of these boxes from my friend Sally and didn’t really have a plan about what I was going to do with them. I have had some old SU markers hanging around with no container to keep them in so I decided to decorate one of these boxes and keep my spare markers in. I think I will have to buy some more of these boxes for future projects.
I’m not usually a pink girl, but I really love the new Hostess DSP in the Stampin Up catalogue so I decided to use it to decorate my box. Although this box is technically “finished” I can’t help thinking it still needs something. I am thinking of adding some more flowers but I’m not sure if that is the missing element. Any ideas would be most appreciated.
This is the top of the box. I am thinking I need to add some “bling” to this but I still haven’t worked out where or how yet. I have added some rhinestones to the centre of the Concord Crush flowers but I don’t think its enough.
I decorated around the sides of the box with some DSP and Concord Crush ribbon too. This is a handy size box to keep markers in as they fit perfectly.
Thanks for visiting.
Today I wanted to post the photos of the little “love notes” I made for my husband. Here’s the background story…..
My husband lives interstate (work commitments) and the weekend he was due home I was away for three days on our annual SU stamp retreat at Tinaroo. I was feeling bad about not being home when he arrived, seeing as it had been a couple of months since he had last been home, so I wanted to do something that would remind him that although I wasn’t there in person to welcome him home, I was still thinking of him and was very happy to have him home for the very short period of two weeks.
So with this in mind, and having my card making “MoeJoe” running I decided to make some little “love note” to leave around the house in various places and see if he found them all. Believe it or not our house does not have that many hiding spots so it was kinda hard to find weird and wonderful places to put these little gems. I put one in the cutlery drawer in the kitchen, one in the bathroom drawer with his toothbrush and a couple of other places around the house.
The little orange/purple one is also the one I made for the colour challenge over at http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com from a couple of weeks ago.
So enough chatter here is what I came up with, including a couple of shots of the insides of some. They are all mini cards, which I found surprisingly fun to make. I think I like making mini cards and will be making more in the coming future.
