Strength & Hope Birthday Card

I made this card today for a friend of mine who is having a birthday in the coming weeks.  I thought I would do it early so I can get it posted and delivered to her on time.  She will probably think that I have forgotten all about her birthday so I am hoping it will be a nice surprise when she gets it in the mail.

I used the Strength & Hope stamp set for this one and the Springtime Vintage DSP,  which I cased from Eileen LeFevre.  Blue is my friends favourite colour so I used Not Quite Navy which matches to the DSP perfectly.

I haven’t used this stamp set before but the butterfly is so pretty with such a lot of detail, I might have to start using it a bit more.  I cut the butterflies out and stuck them down just in the middle so I could make the wings stick up.  This card is nice and girly just like my friend so I think she should like this.

Happy Birthday Kirst, hope you have a great day!!!!

Unfortunately even though I made this card early I didn’t get a chance to post it until last Friday so I am hoping Kirstyn will receive this early next week.  I guess even the best laid plans can still go wrong.

Thanks for visiting.

Masculine Lovely as a Tree

Hello there

I was lucky enough to not have to work on Friday (well I did 1.5hrs) so when I got home from my very very short day I decided to make a card.  I purchased some “Flower Soft” quite a while ago and have been wanting to try it out for some time, and have had an idea for a card in my head for ages so I thought I would see if I could put my idea into action.

This card took me ages to make as its my own creation and as I went along, as is the case, things don’t always go as planned.  However, I must admit I am really really happy with how this card turned out.  I even got a really positive response from my DH without too much prodding….lol

I used lots of different techniques for this card but I really wanted the Flower Soft to be the main focus.  I hope you like what you see and would love to hear your comments.

I started with the top tag and then decorated the second tag which I gold embossed leaves on to.  I really love the Texture wheel from Stampin Up! and I have used it for the background on both of the tags as well as on the Early Expresso mat where I rolled it on with VersaMark and clear embossed it.  I looks fantastic.  I still have some eyelets so decided to used them to fill in some of the blank space on the matting.

I used the Autumn Flower Soft for the tree and I think it has come out really well.  It adds an extra texture which I just love.

Thanks for visiting.
