Happy Father’s Day

Hello again friends,

Today I’m going to show you the three Father’s Day cards I have made.  I cased one from the wonderfully talented Anne Marie Hile and two from Ann Schach.  I love casing Ann Schach she makes such amazing card.  They are so totally different from Anne Marie’s cards which are clean and simple.

One of these cards is for my husband, one for my dad and one for my father-in-law.  Here is what I have done.

P1020689

This is my case of Anne Marie Hile’s card which I am giving to my dad.  It is only very slightly different from the original.  I always struggle to change cards when I am casing them because I am always casing them because I love them just as they are…. 🙂

All three cards are made using the now retired stamp set Sail Away.  I love this stamp set and have used it lots for male cards for the men in my family.

P1020688These next two cards are the one’s I cased from Ann Schach, again it is only very slightly different from the original.  This one is going to be given to my husband, he choose this one as his favourite out of the three.

This is the third card for this year’s Father’s Day and it is currently on it’s way to Melbourne for my father in law.  I changed this one a little too.  Instead of using Soft Suede I used Baked Brown Sugar card stock with Very Vanilla card stock.

As you can see all three have a nautical themed charm which I bought from my friend and fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Shaun Davidson, I just love them.

I would love to hear your comments if you feel the need, but remember please be kind.

Thanks for visiting, I will back tomorrow with some more cards I made over this past weekend.

A Rough Week

Hi friends,

Well it’s been a while between posts again, I know.  It’s been a pretty rough week at work this past week.  One of our staff members had some bad news, her 22 month old grandson spilled a bowl of boiling water over himself and has ended up in the children’s ward at the Townsville General Hospital wearing a burns suit and being treated for third degree burns on his face, neck, and chest.

We are all hoping for the best for our little friend, he is always such a happy toddler when he comes to visit his Nanna at work, and always makes all of our day.

So with that in mind I was asked to make a card for our staff member to show her we are thinking of her and supporting her during this terribly stressful time.

I cased this card from the very talented Beth Beard.  I am loving how well it turned out.  It is very similar to Beth’s, however, there are a few small changes.

P1020684

I only used Basic Grey, Whisper White and Neutrals DSP with Basic Grey ink for this card.  I love how the flowers turned out, I don’t usually make flowers like these one’s, but they are so very simple and effective.  Unfortunately it doesn’t fit into a standard square envelope so I guess I will have to “borrow” one of the A4 envelopes from work to put it in…lol

I added some pearls to add a bit of glamour to the card.

I would love to hear your comments.

Don’t forget if you would like to purchase all or any of the products used to make this card, or any Stampin’ Up! products you can contact me at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/tina-janejohnson/ or you can purchase products from my link too.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend.  I have made a total of 9 cards this weekend (three were from a class I attended on Saturday) so I have lots of posts coming this week.

Your Amazing

Hi again!

I’m back with another card to show you.  I’m on a bit of a run at the moment.  It seems to happen that way for me, I make a few cards in a row and then don’t make anything for a couple of weeks.

Well while my moejoe is working I may as well go with it.

My husband’s oldest son is having his birthday today, and as usual I am late in making and sending his birthday card.  I only made it today..oops  Happy Birthday for today Corey.

Oh well I’m sure he will enjoy it whether it’s late or not.

I cased a card I saw on Yvette Ashe’s web site.

This is what I came up with.  Sorry I just noticed the photo is a little crooked.  I really need to find a better place to have my light box for my photo’s, it is quite awkward taking the photo’s where it is currently sitting.

Corey's bday card - Your AmazingI have only used two colours for this card, basic black and midnight muse with a splash of  basic black DSP.  I used coordinations card stock in midnight muse and embossed it with the alphabet press embossing folder then used my sanding tool to distress it.

The image, ticket and greeting is from the Your Amazing stamp set.  I embossed the greeting, balloon and ticket with black embossing powder.  I punched out three of the mini tickets from the ticket duo punch because I love layering the tickets.

Corey's bday card - Your Amazing insideAs usual I had to decorate the inside.  All I did was emboss some basic black card stock with the alphabet press embossing folder and distressed it with my sanding tool, and embossed another balloon and fussy cut it out.

Thanks for visiting.

All Dressed Up in Concord Crush & Wisteria Wonder

Hi Bloggers

I had a request from a friend at work to make a birthday card for her niece.  She had seen the pop n cuts card I made with the Soho Subway DSP for Lyn and wanted something similar but in purple.

I am loving using Stampin’ Up!’s pop n cut dies.  They are great for making cards with a difference.  Every time someone sees the inside pop up they are surprised and I love that response.

Bring on the cake in Concord Crush frontI love using Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder together, they just go so well together.  I added a lot of bling in this card by using glitter silver DSP and lots of diamentes and sparkly silver ribbon.

I also embossed both the sentiments in silver embossing powder too.

Bring on the cake in Concord Crush insideI love the ticket punch from Stampin’ Up!, the small ticket is ideal for making mini banners on cards.

Bring on the cake in Concord Crush front up closeI added a diamente onto the top of the flowery brad, and a few in the corner.

Bring on the cake in Concord Crush inside up closeWouldn’t you just love a diamond necklace like this one?  I know I would… 🙂

Bring on the cake in Concord Crush inside up close 2Loving this mini banner at the bottom of the card.

All Dressed Up

Hi bloggers

The card I want to show you today is one I made a couple of weeks ago for my Dad’s partner Lyn.  Lyn will be celebrating her birthday on Thursday and this is the card I made for her.

Lyn's birthday cardI used the new Soho Subway DSP and Crisp Cantalope card stock for this card.  This card is a case of a card made by Fran Sabad.  I used the same DSP and cardstock as Fran but changed it just a little.

Lyn's birthday card insideI love the new pop n cuts from Stampin’ Up! they just seem to make a card sing.

I wanted to make a real girly card for Lyn this year and I think this card meets that brief perfectly.

Thanks for visiting.

Stippled Blossoms Birthday

Hi again,

Sorry for being so lax in posting this past month, but as I mentioned in a previous post my life has been pretty disrupted this past month.  I have had quite a lot to deal with, and as is my way I tend to deal with things on my own and don’t talk to my friends about stuff, so it’s been a rough month for me.

Happily though I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and am beginning to get back into my normal daily routines.  I made this card about a month ago for a very dear friend of mine who lives in Brisbane.

I know her favourite colour is blue so I always try to make her a “blue” themed card for her birthday.   To be totally honest I forgot I hadn’t posted this card onto my blog.  I remember thinking about posting it at the time of completing the card but didn’t want to spoil the surprise for my friend who just happens to follow my blog.

Well enough jibber jabber (as Penny would say), let’s get on to the card.

Again, I have used one of my most favourite Stampin’ Up! stamp set.  I cased this card from a card that I found while blog surfing (my second favourite hobby next to card making), although rather than just copying it straight out I actually made some changes to my card to make it different enough from the original.

Kirstyn's birthday card

I stamped the En Francais stamp set on Very Vanilla cardstock with Crumb Cake ink.  I also stamped the Stippled Blossoms rose stamp onto the base of the card in Crumb Cake for a secondary background effect.  I used Bashful Blue and Island Indigo ink for the roses and Old Olive and Kiwi Kiss for the leaves.  I also stamped the Hello Doily stamp in Crumb Cake.  I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake too.  The greeting is from the Perfectly Penned stamp set (now retired) stamped in Island Indigo.

Kirstyn's birthday card insideI carried the Crumb Cake roses through to the inside of the card and once again stamped the greeting in Island Indigo (Kirstyn’s favourite colour by the way).

Well thanks for visiting.  Don’t forget to pop back tomorrow to see another birthday card I made a couple of weeks ago.
